40 weeks...1 more week and we meet our baby!

So let's see...Saturday night I took some castor oil because some friends told me that the day after they took it they had their children.  Unfortunately, that was not the case for me. I was up all night, my stomach was as hard as a rock, I was having contractions, my hips & lower back were hurting and I couldn't get comfortable. Sunday morning I called Brad at work and asked him to come home and be miserable with me. He was nice enough to call in to work and sit around the house with me. He tried to help me feel better. After a nap I started feeling better.

I went to my 40 week appointment yesterday hoping the doctor would tell me that my cervix had started to soften. No luck. The castor oil did nothing. I have had no change in four weeks. My doctor actually told me that I am officially her most unfavorable cervix. So unless this child comes on its own, I will be induced on Tuesday, Dec. 11th.

My doctor will give me an epidural and then do a procedure call the cervical ripening balloon to hopefully start softening and opening up my cervix. I will try to give birth to the baby after that, but if I don't dilate enough then a c-section it is.

39 weeks...almost done!

Well, at my 39 week appointment I was told that I will be induced at 41 weeks. My doctor doesn't like to induce until after your due date. Apparently, I have an unfavorable cervix which means that they will do a different procedure to help get this baby out. So, as of now, I will go in at about 4 in the afternoon on Tuesday, December 11th. My doctor will give me an epidural and then do the Cervical Ripening Balloon       http://www.cookmedical.com/wh/features/crb_en_US/index_crb.html . Hopefully our baby will be here the next day, which is cool because then it's birthday will be 12-12-12. 

Tonight, I decided to try to hurry this along by taking Castor Oil which should start contractions after it cleans out my system. We will see how this goes. Before you ask, yes, my doctor said I could take this. She said if I was going to take it to take it the week of my due date which is this week.
 

38 Weeks

Here is me at 38 weeks. There has been no change as far as delivery in 3 weeks. I am not dilated and apparently I have a very thick cervix. My doctor doesn't like to induce before your due date, so if I don't go into labor on my own, I will probably be induced after by due date. My original due date is December 5th. At this point I have gained about 18-19 pounds. I have been lucky enough to have no symptoms and feel good. I guess that's a blessing especially since I will most likely be going over my due date.

Well, I'm a couple of weeks behind on the picture updates. When I went for my 37 week appointment, they sent me for an ultrasound to see if the baby had dropped to my pelvis. Well, I got to see the little one so I thought I'd share.

 

 

We still don't know the gender of this cutie, and it wasn't cooperating even if we did want to know. We do know that it is head down, as of then it hadn't dropped, and it was about 6.2 pounds.

I had my 36 week appointment today, I have gained another pound.That puts me at about 18-19 pounds so far. The baby's heart beat was 130. It is still head downand I am not dilated yet. I will start going to the doctor every week now. I got to see the baby today in an ultrasound, but made sure to not see if it's a boy or girl. This little on e is constantly moving around in my belly. 

34 weeks today!

Well, Alisha told me that I need to post a picture every week, so here it is.

Had a doctor's appointment today. She said I am measuring where I should be (34 weeks). I have gained a pound in the last 2 weeks. The baby's heart rate was between 130 and 140. The little one is already head down, but not too low down. She doesn't see me going to my due date, but we will take it one week at a time. At my next appointment (in two weeks) she will really check me out and have more info.

I'm feeling good, a little tired than normal, but that is to be expected. The baby moves (rolls) around a lot.

7 more weeks to go!

Well, today I am 33 weeks. I've been feeling great all throughout the pregnancy. Tired in the beginning but no other symptoms really. I have gained about 17 pounds so far. That baby's heartbeat has been very strong and I am measuring just like I should be. This is one active baby! Feeling it move around is by far the coolest feeling yet! We are very excited to meet the little one in 7 weeks (Dec. 5th).
